In my 13 year career as an ESL instructor and resident of Mauritania, I have seen a need to create an educational program that centered the rich legacy of Islam while fostering the curiosity and innate genius of children.  In 2011, I founded The Darul Arqam in Nouakchott and continue to serve as its director.  The Darul Arqam is a licensed educational institution that serves to bridge the gap between traditional Islamic education and innovative learning pedagogies.  Since opening more than a decade ago, we have faced a number of financial constraints which has consistently limited the number of children that we are able to serve and uplift.  For this reason, we request financial assistance from charitable organizations and individuals who share our deep concern and compassion for the future of our ummah.
